The staff was giving Nick what he wanted most. He wanted his family and friends back more than living in a world without them because he didn't attempt to do anything about it. It's primarily about which result Nick would be happiest with and it definitely wasn't staying in the timeline with no reset.

Fantasy is loaded with stories of wish granters, be they genies or magic fish, making peoples' wishes come true in unpredictable and often unsatisfying ways. There is no way to know if what happened in Grimm was the staff fulfilling it's owners' desires or vice versa. Perhaps everything it enabled Z to do was just manipulation intended to place itself in the hands of someone like Nick, and perhaps someday it will decide it likes someone else even better?

That may happen someday after the epilogue. From what I've seen so far, the staff appears to be the opposite of a monkey's paw. It made everything better in the hands of Nick instead of much worse.

It gave Nick his own little world, that's for sure. Whether it made things better is open for speculation.

I still haven't seen an explanation on why the question of this thread "Is Nick Going to End Up Alone?" relevant after the final episode, S6, E13 was aired.

That's because this question has been answered so many times over so the topic got veered off course. We know the answer to that question is a resounding no and it has been explained why at least a couple of dozen times. We'd just be reiterating the same points for who knows how long so talking about something else without having to start a new thread is easier, I guess.

You do realize, that question was never intended to be aimed at you, but I do thank you for making your opinion crystal clear.
