LOL! Ok, this post made me laugh.

I'm guessing that Portland, for whatever historical reason, has the highest proportion of wesen in the general population of any comparablly-sized city in North America.

My first thought was that they wanted to steal the secret recipe for Pok Pok wings. Except that Pok Pok now has a cookbook for sale.
Supposedly, Portland is only one of many places across the globe that BC is rising, but perhaps Portland is the one place where they think they can recruit a wesen who's already enough of a public figure to be put in a position of political power. Although if they really think the mayor of Portland can control the city, they've obviously not spent a lot of time here. Or maybe everything BC does hinges on Diana the uber-hexenbiest child and they're here because that's where her mommy and daddy are.

BC may be trying to play a long game. First a one term(or less) as mayor, then governor/senator for one term or less, then Prez. Sarah Paylin was mayor of a small Alaska town, in the middle of a first term as governor, then a heart beat away from President if the old guy had died in office-something not too hard to arrange, especially with some of the wessen we have seen. Obama similar arc. Also Cruz. Trump even more so. Hopefully we will find out the big plan. Keep watching, have finger food(real fingers only please) as snacks for show, and enjoy.

This thought occurred to me as well. That mayor of Portland was just a first step. However, while he could become governor or senator, Renard cannot be president or vice-president. He may be an American citizen but he is foreign born and ineligible for the presidency or vice-presidency. Now, just to clarify, a person does not have to be born within US territory to be "native born". So, long as one or both of their parents are American citizens at the time of their birth, then the child is "native born". No matter where the birth actually occurs. So, unless Elizabeth was an American citizen, British accent and all, at the time of his birth, then Renard cannot be president. It would not matter if she were a naturalized citizen or not. Now, if she were a naturalized citizen when he was born, then he COULD be president. Thinking about it, perhaps this is why we never heard about Renard becoming a citizen of the US. If Elizabeth were already a citizen then he was born a citizen of the USA. Hmmm. This is one reason why 'birthers' are such idiots. They are ignorant of US law. It makes no difference where Obama and Cruz were born. Their mothers were American citizens at the time of their birth and they are "native born", period.

If they could do this in all states they would then be in power I don't think Renard is the only one. Or again if they got 75 or so of the senate again a base. None of these require US born, but if they had just one then the president is in reach and with 75 senator and maybe 220 rep you got a country.(04-25-2016, 07:42 AM)eric Wrote: BC may be trying to play a long game. We don't know a whole lot about Elizabeth, and nothing about Sean's birth. She could be a US citizen, or she could have traveled out of Europe to the US so she could be out of the reach of the royals while she's vulnerable giving birth.
IF BC has national aspirations for Renard, they're probably just something being set up for Nick and his friends to take down. There's only so far they can take a scheme in 13 episodes.

You are right. Elizabeth could have been a US citizen when she hooked up with the King. We know Sean was born in the castle. There is mention of his time there. If Elizabeth was a US citizen the Sean would be eligible for president. That is if Ted Cruz is.

Well hopefully the ratings improve that they will increase the amount of episodes being made |
