If Adalind had just disappeared some time after "the resistance" took her baby, it would have been a giveaway that it hadn't really been the resistance.
King Freddie being dead doesn't mean that the royals don't have the Verrat anymore, it just means that there's a new king. OTOH, if the royals don't have the Verrat anymore for some other reason - for example, if the Verrat had turned on the royals and joined BC - it might explain why Viktor had to make a deal with the resistance to kill Freddie and why he's not sending the Verrat over now.
