The whole premise of the series was that there's a world beneath the world we know where our rules don't apply. Anyone who can't accept that there are situations where the rules don't apply was probably making a mistake continuing to watch after the first time Nick filled out a case report and left out the wesen aspects. Or when he sent Monroe to save Hank by shooting a Seigbarst with Aunt Marie's elephant gun. But the really last straw for the "never break the law" crowd should have been Nick letting Ian Harmon go and having Monroe get rid of the body after Ian killed Edgar Walz right in front of him
