I know Adalind was the stone woman when Conrad slipped the ring on her finger, but she remembered every word he told her. Gee, once she came back to normal, wouldn't it make sense to just ask the guy what kind of pain will be inflicted on her children? No argument here that Adalind’s not the brightest bulb in the box. But, I don’t think Bonaparte would have elaborated if she’d asked. He seemed to be using scare tactics to keep Adalind in line. If she wasn’t sure what would trigger the spell, then she probably wouldn’t risk doing anything. I don’t think Renard knows any more about the ring and spell than what Adalind told him. He was just reminding her that the spell bound her to him. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Then Renard makes some innuendo about the ring, and she doesn't bother asking him what he knows about it. This isn't the first time I've seen a character ignore an aha moment, but it does seem to be the first time where a character has ignored an aha moment twice. Leave it to Adalind.
So if the ring only bound Adalind to BC’s agenda, and BC is technically gone, the ring should come off. And if not, is wearing an expensive piece of jewelry the worst scenario?
