I figured this post would fit here because any mention of other characters and events are related to Meisner’s new role in season 5.
In Wesen Nacht, Trubel tells Nick & Adalind HW is aware of Adalind’s hexenbiest status and their baby. But. In Rat King, Meisner appears to be taken totally by surprise when Adalind answers Chavez’ phone, so much so that he abruptly disconnects the call. So what is the extent of Meisner’s knowledge? Trubel confirmed she & Meisner had prior discussions about Nick, but is it a higher level of HW that’s doing the actual surveillance, and Meisner’s knowledge is limited to whatever information is shared with him? Why would Trubel know that Adalind is being watched and HW knows about the baby, but not Meisner? If this is the case, then perhaps Meisner’s knowledge of Diana in Portland was restricted to him only knowing the King currently had Diana and the time, location & method for intercepting them. Or the writers aren’t keeping their facts straight from one scene to another or one episode to the next.
When he stepped off the elevator, Meisner told Adalind he’d tell her what he could. Considering the urgency of getting to Trubel, is it likely he took the time to share any info with Adalind? If he immediately called Nick wouldn’t they still be standing at the elevator? When Adalind took the phone from Meisner to talk to Nick they were on the other side of the kitchen. At the end of Rat King, Adalind appeared rather closed off when Nick asked her to tell him about Meisner. Since she’d already told him Meisner helped her get out of Europe what more info would she have? Would Adalind consider the Meisner/Renard working relationship a secret she shouldn’t divulge? Did Meisner tell Adalind something either before he called Nick or before he left? Adalind seemed surprised when Nick told her Meisner was at the hospital.
Then in Wesen Nacht, every time Meisner’s name was mentioned Adalind looked up at Nick out of the corner of her eye, again having that hesitant, almost dreaded expression. What’s up with that?
Last, but certainly not least - in the next episode Eve of Destruction or The Return, whichever they’re calling it, previews include what looks to be Meisner showing Nick the HW command center. So is this before Nick finds out HW, and Meisner in particular, is responsible for Juliette’s transformation into Eve? If Nick doesn’t know at that point and finds out later, what will his reaction be to HW, and especially Meisner? Considering how disappointing ‘the dark Nick out for revenge’ has been thus far in season 5, his reaction to HW’s use of Juliette might be equally disappointing. Or, fingers crossed, a big throw down between pretty evenly matched fighting skills.
And, just because of Adalind's strange reaction to any mention of Meisner, how would she react to a big throw down between Nick and Meisner? Would she side with Nick and be angry at Meisner for what he did to Juliette, or be relieved that Juliette might not be a threat to her anymore?
