Quote:I don't have as much trouble with Juliette's reaction to becoming a hex as some here seem to have. In the beginning Nick proposed, but she could tell he was hiding something bad, she wisely decided not to commit until he trusted her enough to tell her. She knew hexs were feared and hated because of what they tended to do, and knew Nick's first reaction would be to kill her - "one less hex would be a good thing". When she finally exposed her own secret, he did not try to talk about it, he left. All of Nick's friends turned on her and rallied around Nick, trying to cure/kill her.I don’t have a problem with Juliette embracing her Hexenbiest, and agree that Juliette was quickly abandoned by her friends, but if Juliette feared Nick would react as a Grimm rather than a man who loved her and was committed to her, that suggests a very negative opinion of Nick. I can understand why Adalind feared Nick when the suppressant wore off, Nick wouldn’t have given her the slightest consideration had she not been pregnant with his child. But Nick & Juliette had supposedly been in a loving and committed relationship for years.
Quote:Adalind is totally different person than Juliette, Juliette hexenbiest and Eve. The only thing they have in common is they both had Nick as a boyfriend. The main commonality is they were both Hexenbiest. Adalind sought revenge and Juliette suffered the consequences, Juliette sought revenge and Adalind suffered the consequences. Nick wasn’t Adalind’s boyfriend, he was the guy who knocked her up.
Quote:Juliette did spend some time grappling with her conscious. After the beist fight she told Nick she nearly killed Adalind in way that made her sound like she felt guilty. After she tried to killed Adalind with a statue she said to herself "I am losing myself" and then she went to the spice shop and tried to talk about it with Rosalee and Monroe.I’m not saying Juliette turned hardcore evil and never looked back, or that her friends didn’t abandon her when she needed them most, but expressing a sentiment with a few words is just that - words without action. Maybe I missed it, did Juliette initially turn down Kenneth’s offer? Did she even hesitate when deciding to work with the Royals?
I think more than anything, Juliette was presented as being controlled/influenced by the Hexenbiest and quickly led down the dark path because there were only a few episodes before the season finale, which didn’t allow time for Juliette to struggle with her conscious for more than a few minutes.
