It starts with a guy that robs an adult bookshop and barricades inside. Nick and Hank have tickets for a basketball game that night, so they solve the problem really quick by luring him out with a cup of coffee.
Hank’s uncle is an ex-basketball-star, they go together to see the game. They meet the best player of the Portland-team, he got problems with his knees and can’t play tonight. Once alone with Nick, he tells him what is really wrong. He is Lowen, another Lowen kidnapped his mom and threatens to kill her if he's playing in this important game. Nick promises to help, he tells him to stay on the bench till he gets Nicks phone call.
Nick and Hank go to save the player’s mom, they find the kidnapper in a trailer. Nick lures him out, not with coffee this time but with a good fight Grimm-to-Lowen. While Nick is fighting, Hank manages to find the woman and bring her to safety. Nick defeats the Lowen, calls the player, the player turns the game which was not looking good for Portland until now, Portland wins.
We see a guy on the phone who says that the Lowen has failed, Portland won, the expected riots and mass hysterias failed to appear, so the Grimm must be eliminated. To be continued.
I must say, this story is nothing but lame. It’s such a simple plot, and it’s the very first issue! No recommendation from my side.
The only thing I liked was a line Nick says regarding the adult-bookshop-robbery “He didn’t have any hostages. Unless you count the inflatable ones”.
