I have an objection to the "Hexenbiest-made-me-do-it-argument". When Juliette woged in front of Nick for the first time, she had not just kicked Adalind’s ass, but also killed two powerful wesens in self-defense in earlier episodes. At first, Juliette seemed to have some control and managed to balance her two “personalities”. The changes she underwent was difficult for her, but she managed to operate in a way that made Nick and the others not suspect anything. At the same time, she had enough control of her hex-nerve to kill other wesens when necessary. Only after she told Nick about the change, things started going downhill quickly. Why did she lose more control as she gained more experience? I have always argued that the hex-nerve could not operate on its own. It only intensified thoughts and feelings that already had to be present in the person. Juliette became hateful, and the Hexenbiest part of her intensified the way she reacted. Juliette must therefore be at least partially responsible for her actions. That's my interpretation anyway.
