We know that once all is settled at home and is restless enough she's not weary of returning to work. She's done it before. There's nothing Adalind wants that she doesn't have already or couldn't get on her own at the moment. At the end of the show she wanted Nick and her children and she has them together, everything else is inconsequential.
Making an assumption of Adalind returning to her shallow ways is just an assumption based on personal preference and not what happened on the show especially in the last two seasons.
Some people still want to see Adalind as the character she was in the first few seasons. The last two seasons have to be disregarded entirely for someone to see her this way.
And once again, she's seen as just a typical Hexenbiest instead of Adalind. She's still being characterized as a user who will leave Nick for the next shiny object that comes her way. That would be amazing since there were absolutely no hints that she would do this over the last two seasons.
I also see it being mentioned that Adalind wasn't afraid of the Royals or BC. I guess I got a really screwed-up perception of season 3. I thought the Royals were who Adalind and Meisner were running from the whole time. I thought it was why she told Rosalee she was afraid to be alone and why she eventually accepted Nick and Kelly's protection. I guess I got a terrible perception of season 5 as well since Adalind gave in to BC's threats for the safety of her children and was shown to be miserable the entire time. I thought she couldn't wait to get out of the mayor's mansion and back to Nick and his crummy paint factory loft.
In the epilogue, it was clear that Diana and Kelly were shown in a tribute to Nick's Grimm legacy. I doubt Sean is running the show and I don't doubt that Diana would refer to both Nick and Sean as Dad, especially when she's talking to Kelly, just like Henry from OUAT refers to both Emma and Regina as Mom.
As for Adalind's thirst for power, that's something I also missed in seasons 5 and 6. It seemed she valued safety and stability over everything else. She was terrified at her powers returning and didn't revel in breaking Tony's fingers. It was also a good character moment since her powerless self came out to help Rosalee rather than stay hidden and nobody would've blamed her for it except for some posters here who would've held that against her.
Back to Adalind's power, she didn't seem to have a craving for it. She didn't even encourage Diana to use her powers when she could've greatly benefited from it. I thought there were times where Adalind was too stubborn and she should've encouraged Diana to use them to get them out of trouble.
Adalind being under Nick may be hard to see. But isn't it possible that she doesn't see herself under Nick? Adalind may see herself on equal footing with Nick as a Hexenbiest and having Hexenbiest children. It doesn't matter how we see it but how she sees it. She already decided to get her job back precisely because she didn't want to be under Nick and still didn't contemplate leaving him. Adalind was more than happy to return to him. I don't get the impression that she sees herself under Nick and certainly not after twenty years together. It's not hard to remember that Adalind attempted to take down Z herself when she thought Nick was on the verge of being defeated.
