So far, Nick/Adalind is only possible because Adalind doesn't question anything she doesn't want the answer to.
Nick did not know that HW had Diana until she was taken by BC but Sean knew Meisner knew who had Diana for a while and he knew that Meisner was running the local HW cell and did nothing about it. He could asked him before Dixon was killed. BC convince Sean to want his daughter back at the beginning of the season 5 Sean said he only wanted to meet her.
Women characters do not have to be having sex with the lead to be important to the story.
