the way i see nick's dilemma with adalind and juliette is that it's a test of whether nick and juliette really love each other.
first it was juliette and how she would be if she had to re-meet or fall in love again with him in season 2 and whether she could accept him for who he is, the more reason why season 4 was painful and heartbreaking for her especially when she was trying on the engagement ring realizing her r/ship has been damaged for good, sending her down a dark path.
i guess now season 5 is the turn of nick with adalind now. she had been the one wedging their r/ship.
i should believe nick should be with someone too to see if he still loves juliette despite of all she has done.
i do believe that if adalind should realize that juliette is back, she could make a drastic stupid decision on that ring to get back with nick
