Hello Forum,
There has been some lively discussion about the fight scene where Nick kills Kenneth. Here is a video, complete with Spanish subtitles:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM4tB3iOdfs
The video is 2:04 in length. At 1:26 Kenneth has pushed Nick to the floor, he picks up a metal pipe and attacks Nick. Nick disarms Kenneth, then produces the Grimm blade, tells him "for my Mother" and slits his throat.
1. As pointed out previously, the fight was hand to hand until Kenneth attacked with the pipe. So up to that point (IMO) the fight was totally fair.
2. Some have said Nick took an unfair advantage by bringing the Grimm blade. So in an even match of combatants if one is armed with a two foot pipe and the other with a six inch blade who has the advantage?
3. After Kelly came in the house, Kenneth burst in with "several" Verrat agents. The actual ambush, murder and decapitation was not shown. However, IMO Kelly fighting Kenneth and several Verrat agents would not be "fair."
4. IMO when Kenneth murdered Kelly it became incumbent that Nick set aside his cop shackles, Grimm up and avenge his Mother's death. It would seem that Nick and Wu agreed and helped arrange the one on one face off.
Nick has made plenty of mistakes. Some have been costly. He is not perfect. However, IMO and in the fantasy world of Grimm for Nick to not avenge his Mother's death would have been an act of cowardice. To deny him the right to avenge her would be to deny the basic premise:
