Quote:I liked Monroe's show of grief in last week's episode, but there was something else he did that I found incredibly tactless. When he was up on the roof and talking to Nick, the subject came around to Adalind and Juliette.
Nick mentions some things about them and I thought Monroe asked if he liked Adalind, to which Nick evaded the question. But then, Monroe goes on to make the stupidest statement I've heard in the entire series, "Dude, you slept with both of them".
Nick did not sleep with Adalind. She conned him and she raped him. I know there are some here who do not believe it's rape, but that's not the issue I was curious about.
How do you think Nick felt when Monroe made such a tacky statement?
The script from the scene reads:
Quote:[The scene shifts to Nick and Monroe on the roof]It is a frank, private conversation between two guys who have grown into a trusting friendship. There are times when tact gets trumped by truth in order to have a meaningful discussion. Monroe states a fact "you slept with both of them when they were each other" that both know and the effects of which have had major impact on both of their lives. His words, weird, confusing, bizarre seem quite appropriate. In fact, Nick agrees by replying "yeah."
Monroe: Wow, dude. Nice view.
Nick: Yeah, not too bad, huh?
Monroe: [He laughs] Lordy. [He sighs] So how's it going... between you and Adalind and Kelly and... Eve and...
Nick: Well, Adalind has been great. Who would've thought that she would've made such a wonderful mother?
Monroe: Right. How does she feel about you?
Nick: I don't know. We don't really talk about that.
Monroe: Well, how do you feel about her?
Nick: I'm not sure. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel. I hated her for so long, and now... we're living together, and we have this kid. And it all just feels so strangely normal. I mean, if you can call this normal.
Monroe: Well, I am the wrong guy to ask about normal. But all I can say is, it feels like Adalind is a completely different person, you know?
Nick: Yeah, like Eve.
Monroe: Yeah. About that-do you think she has any idea who she used to be? I mean, Juliette?
Nick: Well, she says she remembers everything, but she talks about Juliette as if she has nothing to do with her.
Monroe: Sounds like a complete split personality.
Nick: I don't think they have a name for this.
Monroe: Just when you think people can't change, right? But, dude, seriously, it is so weird that you slept with both of them when they were each other. I mean, come on. Relationships are confusing enough as it is without getting into that kind of, you know... bizarre arithmetic.
Nick: Yeah.
