Also, since the writers can barely keep their world straight, going serial would just exacerbate that problem. I do agree that a season (or some number of episodes) in Europe would be nice. That's one reason I wanted Grimm moved from Fridays. Higher ratings would mean a higher budget for Grimm. Filming in Europe would be expensive (unless you do a bunch of sound stages in LA and call them Europe).
