The Fae are in "Lost Girl" and there might be some concern about poaching. But there are probably plenty of ways of incorporating them differently.
And of course they are already poaching from the SciFi channel. The just stole Spoiler :
The show's concept certainly seems to include an endless number of Wesons. Those books of Aunt Marie's are pretty thick.
Yep, I'm talking about Fae/fairies. Specifically the Celtic/British Isles versions, but I think most cultures have similar creatures or beings. Japanese folklore, for example, has Youkai (also spelled "Yokai").
I don't think there's anything to worry about in terms of plagiarism or infringement on another show since mythological and folkloric stuff is usually public domain. Fairies and zombies are more owned by pop culture or common folklore than anything else. Same thing with stuff like werewolves (the show has them in Blutbaden) and vampires (not on the show ... so far).
Now, if Grimm ended up depicting fairies in the exact same way as Lost Girl or, say, True Blood did, that would be a definite problem. I don't think Grimm will do anything like that, though. There are plenty of public domain inspirations to pull from in terms of fairies.
