This issue is not about Nick, it’s about Marie Kessler’s Grimm-life in the past. She already has cancer and gets her chemo regularly, and we see Donna, a fellow sufferer, getting her chemo next to Marie, but surrounded by her family while Marie is alone.
The “Silk of Harmonia” is a cloth that prevents people from aging. It can be woven using the secretions of special spinnetods, but these spinnetods are very rare. The royals paid a ziegevolk chemist (Thomas) to make a deal with one of these special spinnetods. She prepared a scarf out of this valuable silk, Thomas wanted to extract and multiplicate the active ingredient, inventing a true miracle drug for the royals.
As the spinnetod dates a tasty young man for sucking him out as spinnetods do, she gets beheaded by Marie who just appears at the right time and place as the spinnetod woges. Marie searches the flat of the spinnetod afterwards and takes the scarf with her for it’s really beautiful golden color. The next day she gets to know a charming man who’s name is Thomas, he invites her for dinner and some dancing and she has a good time. Outside they get attacked by some woged wesen (Blutbaden?). They demand the “Silk of Harmonia” she took from the spinnetod and threaten her, they would kill Thomas if she resists. Marie didn’t know the scarf was special until now. She gives them the scarf to safe Thomas and learns right away that Thomas was part of the plan. After some fighting Marie defeats the royal’s henchmen, finally she strangles Thomas, the ziegevolk, with the “Silk of Harmonia”. In the end she extracts the active ingredient from the scarf herself and injects the golden fluid to Donna.
Nice story, it’s charming to have another main character for a change. A one-issue-story has to be short, I think the writers do a good job.
