I think Eve/Juliette was NEVER a 'regular' hexenbiest, because of how she came to be one.
I think Nick using the magic stick to cure her wound by Bonaparte, changed a LOT and from there, different little events had her taking off in total different directions. I mean, we can see just how she's changed after curing the stomach wound. She looked and expressed herself more like Juliette. It's like the stick exorcized her or something.
And when Diana commented near the end of S6 that she's a hexenbiest again, Juliette/Eve, seems so different in her demeanor. A real blend of regular person and hexenbiest.
Ii don't think it was all that much effort when she was checking out the books from Adalind's mother. It only took her a moment to figure out how to do it and shaking the one book so that the letters on the table of contents could be read.
