If you look upon him as a superhero, he's much like any other superhero. In other words, he impresses how he thinks things should be handled, on a species that's not even his own.
As for being a cop, was he once he became a grimm, or was he just impersonating a cop? It certainly makes me wonder with Nick picking his own battles.
Nick didn't "pick his battles." They either arose out of cases he was assigned to investigate or they were initiated against him by outside forces (most commonly, the royals).
Can you cite an instance where Nick took action against a wesen who wasn't doing something a non-grimm cop would still be expected to act on if he or she knew about it?
As I already said, Nick is as much a real cop as Clark Kent is a real reporter.
Face it Face, doesn't make you wonder? WTF were some pople watching?
So, I am reading some of these later posts on this thread and I am seeing so much, well in plain English, Bull Crap.
Where do we get any proof or hint, Sean was responsible for Nick becoming a cop/detective? Nowhere. We do know that Sean knew that Nick became a Grimm, when his aunt showed up. And for many episodes, Nick had no clue, Sean knew about his Grimm, or that he was a Wesen himself.
That’s when Nick’s problems started to escalate. There were never any hints that Sean knew ahead of time Nick was going to become a Grimm, get him promoted to Detective and be at his beckon-call. No ands-if-or-but’s! NEVER!
I will admit, most likely, the approval for a cop to be promoted to detective has to be approved by his commanding officer, but where is the proof that Sean was the Captain in charge when he got promoted? Even with the change of Sean hair going from some gray to black after season, both are about the same age. If I can interject my opinion into a fact? He got promoted to Captain after Nick became a detective!
Let’s even say, Sean was captain of the precinct when Nick was promoted to detective? So, WHAT? This is just another attempt by someone trying to inject a misguided view/opinion as a fact that never existed.
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
