Sean has been the boss in every situation. He can be good or bad but he is always authoritative.
Juliette has always been assertive. Even as Eve she was still always assertive. You never had to tell her what to do. She was always looking for ways to get involved.
Nick is a leader but not the boss or authoritative. He works with others. But at most he could be a manager. or team leader.
Adalind has always been a follower. given a task she will follow. we have never seen her take the initiative to do something. The only time she instigated anything was when it was for her own benefit.
These are traits the character have had from the very beginning and have never changed. They have gone for good to bad and back again. But the how they function is always the same. Adalind traded one task master Sean for another Nick. problem is Nick is not a task master. So Adalind is rarely called on to do anything. When Nick does he asked her instead of telling her.
Quote:Adalind was outside during the fight with Z and Nick didn't send her inside. I never took Adalind as someone to shy away from a fight. And Adalind and Sean don't have that relationship anymore. She was fighting Sean at the mansion not doing his bidding.Outside it was too hectic for Nick to worry about where and what anybody was doing. the look when Adalind called for the ax. was a look of surprise.
Adalind will never shy away from a fight. she just will never charge toward a fight. if the fight comes to her she will defend her self. But that does not make her assertive.
At the mansion. Sean and Conrad did noting but give Adalind orders. they demanded she stand on the stage next to him as if they where a happy family. Sean told Adalind to come alone and don't tell Nick. He also told her to meet him at the cafe and don't tell Nick.
In 'Where the Wild Things Are' episode, Adalind was going to follow JuliEve into the mirror world to try and rescue her, even without Nick or anyone else telling her to do so. Therefore it's not hard to assume that Adalind would willingly try and help Nick, even if he doesn't give her direct orders. Also significant and a motivation for Adalind to become more active is that her kids are also involved in grimm work. Adalind has always prioritised her children above all else, including Nick. She'd likely get involved just to help them and protect them. What doesn't make sense is for Sean to do grimm work, because he's never been shown to be interested in that kind of work. He mostly does things out of self interest, selfishness. There's nothing that allows him to gain anything from doing grimm work, there'd be many downsides to it, like alienating his wesen colleagues.
