No, not at all. I’m saying that this was the end of the series and G & K went with Nick/Adalind instead of Nick/Juliette, but wanted to ensure that viewers didn’t feel that Juliette was dumped. It all goes back to G & K’s inability and/or unwillingness to commit to character progression.
Juliette could have approached Nick at any time during S5 or S6 if she still had feelings for him. Nick/Juliette would not have prevented Nick from fathering his son. But if Juliette approached Nick and he didn’t reciprocate her feelings, it might appear as though she was dumped because he had already chosen Adalind. If he reconciled with Juliette it might appear that he was abandoning his responsibilities and had only settled for Adalind when he couldn’t have Juliette.
The way G & K handled it was by presenting Adalind as head-over-heels in love with Nick and Juliette loving him for what they once had and as a friend. Neither G & K nor Nick actually had to choose because the two female characters chose for them.
That, and as it's-all-about-ratings show runners do, they drug out the ‘who will Nick chose’ quandary to the very end. But seriously, other than fans who ship their fave couple to the bitter end, did anyone really care at that point? As far as I was concerned, the winner of Nick’s love was actually the loser. So unless Juliette was stupid enough to remain in Portland as a loyal Grimm cult member, she was the clear winner.
