1. Claire Coffee became pregnant and thus she couldn't do as many standing scenes. Thus in Season 4 they needed to write her out of the action.
Pretty sure the Evil mad Hexenbiest Storyline in season 4 was suppose to be Adalinds but was changed to Juilette because Claire Coffee couldn't do the scenes.
2. People were complaining about Juilette's character being weak and boring. The writers wanted to make her character more fun so they gave her the Hexenbiest Storyline. Then people complained they hated her even more so then the contrived the whole Eve storyline.
The writers loves Bistie so they are going to do whatever they can to keep her on the show and make her more likable because she was getting alot of hate. People even began targeting the actress(Which is a NO NO).
The writers combated people complaints about Bitsie can't act, she is emotionless by creating Eve an emotionless character. They combated Juilette character being weak by making her into super Hexenbiest, and they combated people saying that Nick and Juilette have no chemistry by splitting them up. People still don't like her though.
3. They replaced Adalind being the center Hexenbiest of the show with Juilette/Eve because you can't have two main characters have the same role. LOL considering alot of characters on this show merge into the same roll it is ridiculous.
I mean Adalind's character Arc took a huge hit after Juilette became a Hexenbiest. They stopped doing Adalind centered stories which IMO was a huge mistake.
To make a long story short is was basically a mixture of Fans, Production value, Actors/Actress lives, etc.
I watch mostly a lot of crime procedural shows and the spouses of the officers not related to police work are almost all minor characters. I believe they should have given Bistie a job related to police work since they wanted her to be the leading lady. She could have dated Hank, Renard or even Wu as part of the show.
Claire's contract includes a lot less screen time so being Nick's girlfriend and Kelly's and Diana's mom and co-parenting with Renard takes up most of her time. In season 5, she bought a new born to the set so she had to stay in one place. When Bree bought her new born baby she stayed at the spice shop and it did not affect the storyline much.
The writers had a vision for Juilette character but people simply didn't like it. The Writers wouldn't have known people didn't like the character until people saw it. Thus they couldn't reconn Juilette being a vet and make her into a police officer right on the spot.
Personally I liked season 1 and 2 and first half of Season 3 Juilette. I felt like she was part of the plot just enough to say she was there but not to much to overpower main characters plot like Nick.
Roselee character spends 90% of her time in the spice. The Actress pregnant or not. Adalind's character did alot of traveling in different locations. Thus keeping Rosalee at the spice shop doesn't take away from her character because that is where her character would spend 90% of her time anyways. With Adalind though her character never stayed in 1 place to long. She switches between Portland and Europe. So having her stay at the loft 24/7 takes away from her character and thus the plot.
