i agree no one said ADalind is a bad person. But then I also hold the position that HW nor BC are bad people. As I see it each character has natural habits and tendencies. Even the ones that kill to feed are not bad. That is not the same as the ones that kill for self gain, or just for the joy of killing. Would you consider a mountain lion that attacked people that came close to them bad.
You say you don't need other information to understand what you see. Yet all your comment show you are seeing from a certain perspective. I have never said your perspective is wrong, i have always said it is not complete. I have always said each episode has a basic story. On the surface it is straight forward with no underlying meaning. But writers are like artist. And like an artist you may see a tree yet the artist will tell you it is a metaphor for something else. That does not change the idea that it is a tree. With writers they are always interjecting meaning in their work. Grimm is filed with social and political commentary. Their is a heavy message in support of LGBTQ rights. Not one characters ever mentions it but it is there. The writers comment on social norms. Take the way they have Adalind use sex. Do you real think they just pick that as a method out of a hat. or can you even see that they are trying to say something. I have many post where i go into the message being presented. There have been a lot of informed replies. Of course there are also the poster who driven buy what they see as what is socially acceptable rejecting the idea. Some of the biggest argument have been what is acceptable when it comes to sexual activity. Both Juliette and Adalind have been refereed to as sluts. Each time I ask the poster why. Just because they have a health sex life. On Grimm every time sex is implied the women is always shown as being in control of her situation. That is not an accident, that is intentionally done by the writers. Even off the show the writers of Charmed, Buffy, Angel, Grimm are all very active in women rights and it is reflected in their writing. You might not detect it in the dialog. But if you look at how they have the women do things you will see it.
I will say this, my main reason for going into a lot of this is my fear that more and more people are guided by what they think they see and do not apply any critical thinking. Take commercials most of them are exaggeration, hyperbole or straight out lies. Take one of the common tactics they will use what looks like an expert that makes what sounds like a professional recommendation. And people buy it. They don't even consider the expert is an actor. When you hear these commercials site statistics. How many take the time to evaluate how the statistics where compiled. What made up the sample pool. Remember the crest commercial where they said 4 out of 5 doctors. There where forced to stop running that commercial because the stats where flawed. I Notice many people do the same thing with TV show. They see the show from a very simplistic point of view. And refuse to apply any critical thinking and ask why something was done the way it was. What are they really trying to say.
