We're not really going to talk about them being award-winning writers as reasons for giving them the benefit of the doubt, are we? Do I have to bring up Game of Thrones once again? That show has won Emmys for writing in the past two seasons. Writing! There is no way you can convince me that that I should consider that to be a well-written show because of the awards they won. They used to be worthy but they sure aren't now and no amount of awards will sway me.
I make my opinions based on what I see on screen. I'm not going to ignore it because of who the writers are or what their reputation is. This show was great for the first few seasons even with the cat-scratch fever and Adalind's baby drama. I even think this season has started off better than the last one. I can praise the writers when I feel it's warranted so I shouldn't be disqualified from criticizing them.
I understand the show just fine. It isn't that subtle or nuanced. I"m just giving my opinion on the way they're going about reaching the plot points they want to reach just like I did with GOT, House, and Dexter. Those were all critically acclaimed shows that turned into dumpster fires. I don't think Grimm has reached that point despite my criticism. Even with all its faults, this show is at least more consistent than those shows were.

You say you understand the writers. Yet as in the above quote you still judge Juliette by what she does. Yet when the show talks about signs of Juliette they are talking about who she is. They often use she has a return of her emotions. What Eve is regaining is her sense of self. That is hard to do if you do not understand who Eve is. If you only see her as what she does you will never understand who she is. Eve understands what it means to be wesen but lacks a sense of self.
What is Eve's sense of self? Why did she put her head down when Nick talked about his first kiss with Adalind? Is she just naturally awkward and was unsure of how to act in that situation? Why did she and Nick share a strange look in the last episode?
Am I mistaken in thinking that Eve wouldn't show signs of having some type of feelings for Nick? Is Eve starting to fall for Nick too and that's separate from Juliette? I suppose Eve doesn't really have strong feelings for Nick and those things were thrown in for comic relief.
Isn't Adalind judged on what she does? She could be shown not to be the person she once was in every episode but you still judge her for not laying her life on the line for Nick.
