But there have been some hints that the hexenbiest within her is alive and well. Despite what she told Rosalee, she has not taken any steps to permanently change herself into fully human. Needless to say, for all of the hoopla about Diana's powers, we saw Adalind put them to the test first by sending a message to Nick.

Needless to say, for all of the hoopla about Diana's powers, we saw Adalind put them to the test first by sending a message to Nick.Adalind has experienced the most significant evolution, but the writers stopped her development short of standing on her own. Instead of Adalind’s violent past forcing her to become self sufficient, she’s even more vulnerable and needy.
Pretty sure the show indicated the Hexenbiest can’t be suppressed a second time, nor can it be killed again by a Grimm. But considering that Adalind was devastated when her powers returned, you’d think she would have been researching every available resource for a loophole or obscure spell. And considering all the research Rosalee has done for Nick over the years, it makes sense that she would have been actively researching possible options.
But the writers wanted the Hexenbiest and Adalind concealing it from Nick to cause conflict/drama, so they wouldn’t have devoted screen time to Adalind proactively trying to get rid of it. But Adalind is like Nick, she isn’t proactive, she reacts in the moment.
I don’t think Adalind was ever conning Nick since coming to him for help in S4. If Adalind’s conning anyone, it’s herself.
