why would you think off screen and on screen personalities would have anything to do with each other. Why would you think you can judge an on screen relationship by what you see on screen. Saying two characters have chemistry would be the same as saying an action is a coincidence or that was a close call. The difference between how David and Bitsie played the relationship differs from how David and Clair played it has nothing to do with them as people or their abilities as actors. What you see is what is in the heads of the writers. Nick and Juliette's relationship was written to show a couple that where comfortable in their relationship. They where past the dating phase. Nick and Adalind where made to seem they where working at forming a relationship.
That is why I find it funny the people that argue that one character makes a better couple then the other. Don't these people realize they are watching actors. It is their job to make you believe what you think you are seeing. Just like people find it hard to see they are all close friends.
