But that is usually after a marriage or if their father is not in their life. Given that at no time has Diana refereed to Nick as her dad or even seeing him as a father figure. All the way to the end she has been daddy's girl with Sean. Even with the obstacles Sean has always shown he has no intention of not being front an center in Diana's life.
And how are you sure that Nick and Adalind are not married after 20 years? Diana didn't call Nick 'dad' as a child because she was only getting to know him. They were introduced to each other in season 6. By the end of the series, you can see that a bond is starting to form between Nick and Diana because they are the only ones who can remember what happened with Zoestorer. We also see the hint of Nick and Diana's developing relationship when Diana saves Nick and Eve with the stick, and when Nick gave Diana a warm hug at the end. Also, if adult Diana wasn't referring to Nick as 'dad', why would she even be holding the staff in her hand? Why would she even be fighting wesen as a 'grimm'? Why would she be in the trailer full of Nick's and Adalind's stuff if she wasn't referring to Nick as her dad? Besides, it's clearly established that Diana is more of a mommy's girl than daddy's girl. Adalind would have been a stronger influence to Diana as she is looking after both Kelly and Diana, Renard's job would not have allowed him to raise his daughter as a full time parent.
Quote:That being said it is a big leap to think that Diana was referring to Adalind and Nick and not Adalind and Sean. Her is another thing after twenty years it makes more sense that Sean would be in charge of a wesen control team. Sean was captain made it to mayor. Was on the top level in the BC operation one below Conrad. Is it even conceivable that Sean would work under Nick.
The big leap is for you to assume that Diana is referring to Renard at the 20 years later scene, despite Nick's weapons, grimm books, mixed with Adalind's things scattered in the trailer. Where is the evidence that Nick develops trust in Renard? which is hard to believe after Renard took away his family and put everyone that he cared about in danger. Even at the end of the series, it's clear that Nick still doesn't like or trust Renard and the rest of the gang doesn't either, including Adalind. Is it even conceivable that Nick would allow Kelly to work for Renard? That he would risk Renard taking hold of the powerful staff if Diana was working for him (Renard)? Hell would probably freeze over before Nick ever allowed that to happen.
Quote:Something else to think about. Just how long does anyone think that Adalind would be willing to be under Nick. For one she would not take a back set to Eve for long. The more Eve showed her powers the more Adalind would show hers. Remember the only threat that sent Adalind to Nick was Juliette / Eve. She had no fear of the Royals or BC.
Okay, clearly you did not watch season 5, because the only reason why Adalind even went to BC was because she was terrified of Bonaparte, after he threatened Kelly's and Nick's lives. The only reason why Adalind even wore the ring that Bonaparte gave her was because he threatened to harm her children. Again, she was fearful of him, who happened to be the head of BC. And also, Adalind doesn't care if JuliEve is stronger than her. She was scared that she would revert back to her former self when her powers returned, but it never happened. Adalind's main priority are her children, raising them the right way, and forming a happy family with Nick. She also prefers to stay in the background, allowing Nick to make decisions on how best to protect her and her children.
Quote:Adalind was shown as someone that lived for couturier. How many women would go from having the finer things to wearing jeans. Especially when she does not have to. They showed she could get her job as a lawyer back in a minute. Does Adalind strike anyone as someone that would support someone else to live in the lifestyle she is accustomed to. In twenty years Adalind's need for power would return. She is a hexenbiest.
Except she is a changed hexenbiest. Adalind, along with JuliEve, shows that it is possible for hexenbiests to control their urges and keep their biest spirit under control. Adalind has shown no signs of reverting back to her former self, despite the temptation that was offered to her to become the mayor's wife and reach the top of the BC hierarchy. If she had willingly chosen to become Renard's wife and sided with BC, Adalind would have held a lot of power in the wesen world. She would have been treated like royalty. It was only due to her resistance to willingly play happy families with Renard and give up Nick's location that Adalind suffered from the hands of Bonaparte. As we saw in season 5, she was offered a rich, luxurious comfortable life in the BC household, she was dressed in couture, but Adalind still chose to go back to Nick. How many times did we hear her say how much she hated living with Renard? How many times did she tell Nick she wanted to go back to him? And when she does go back to live with Nick, she chooses to wear comfy, casual clothes. There is absolutely nothing that would indicate that Adalind would ever want to be with Renard, she only tolerates him because she has to co-parent Diana with him.
