Grimm:The Warlock(Comic Spin off) - FräuleinWunderlich - 09-25-2013

It looks like the Grimm Comic Series is so successful that the Series get a spin off named: The WarlockShy

This looks promising. I must admit to being slightly disappointed with the previous comics - I think, because they were set mainly away from Portland they lost some of the "Grimm" feel.
Also, the character likenesses in this one seem much more consistant, although maybe it's too early to judge from just the preview. Thanks for sharing.

Hrm. I should probably start reading comics again.

@ Grimm up North

Maybe you should buy the next Issue from the mainseries, because the next story set in Portland Wink

Backround info:
Jose Malaga the Artist from the spin off , is the guy which draw the Grimm comic maincovers.
Jai Nitz is famous from the Green Hornet and XMen Comics. On Twitter he postet some details about the time where the Warlockcomic begins:
Spoiler :
The Warlock, takes place at the end of Season 2, but before the finale.

I'm so glad they are trying to make the Warlock story fit the series... one of the only problems with the first story in the ongoing is finding where to fit it in the series... (@helljacket yes I know you don't consider it cannon but the comic is better when it fits... even theoretically)

Thanks for the additional info. I'm sure I'll continue to buy the main series as it is more Grimm after all Smile and the fact that it's returning to Portland is encouraging.

However, the Warlock spin off looks like it's going to hit all the right notes for me - although it is, again hard to tell just from the small sample. The comment in the preview regarding including action scenes that would be impossible in the show worries me slightly though. One of the problems I have with the main comic series is it's focus on big, blockbuster style scenes
Spoiler :
Helicopter chases, machine gun shoot-outs, train wrecks etc.
which feel out of place in Grimm. The show is always strongest with its tighter focus on character interaction and I hope this new comic follows suit.
