Grimm on german TV - Gretel Hanselsister - 07-05-2013

On 15 of July the first season’s end is on german TV (VOX channel). I just found my TV magazine in the postbox. It’s so dissapointing: Instead of trying to catch up and append the second season, they just repeat the first one. On 22nd of July they air the pilot, it’s just starting all over again. Angry

Bummer about the repeats. But at least Grimm is still on TV over there. Here in the US, I've never seen a show rerun a season unless it's syndicated.

Out of curiosity, what day of the week does it air on VOX?

Trust me, you don´t want that! I can complete speak with some episodes from Two and a half men & Big Bang because of that.
And then after they stream the half of a season, the channels makes a loooooooooooooong break. Lol
My guess, german Fans see season 2 not more in 2013. The most TV channels make a break from a year or leastways 6 month.
And because it´s the second season, the show aired not anymore monday at 9.15 pm. In my opinion they will put it this way, season2 aired with The Voice( runnig in Germany on another channel as Grimm)or other highly philosophical baloney. Then the TV bosses get a good look how popular Grimm really is and whether it worth to show/ buy another season. If they not buy another season, the fans can look into a deep black hole.

RE: Grimm on german TV - Gretel Hanselsister - 07-05-2013

Yes, 9:15 PM on mondays. And the repeat will be just the same.
Personally, I do not fancy Grimm in german too much.
* The Wesen names in german - they are horrible, it keeps getting worse. The original ones are sometimes a bit awkward, most times funny, in a few cases irritating. But the re-translations are stupid, nearly all of them. A Fuchsbau, for example, is a "Fuchsteufel" (Fox devil), did anyone see a reason why someone should call them devil? Season 2 Spoiler:
Spoiler :
And it's dangerously close to the Fuchsteufelwild, and they have absolutely NOTHING in common.

A Hässlich is called "Rattentroll" (rat troll) OK, troll fits, but why rat?
* They shorten the episodes to make them suitable for the age of 12, there was not much left of the episode with the Lowen-Games (You don't see the couple being killed at the beginning, Monroe was never held in a cage, so it wasn't explained why the opponent in the arena had a wounded hand)
* The last point is personal (and therefore unfair): I can't get used to the synchron voices Undecided

Of course you have to endure two advertising spots before it starts, but perhaps they are interesting too Angel

Appreciate the thought, but I'm afraid I can't get the show to run. I would have enjoyed watching an episode or 2 in german, although I only speak a few words anymore. Its been 36 years since I was there in the army. Lord, I'm getting old!Confused

It was worth a try.

Here's another link that probably doesn't work outside Germany (and inside probably only one week):
Damien Puckler talks about his role in "Grimm" as Martin Meisner.
7:45 min to 12:00 min
