Hi there,
our show's been struggeling last season already and we've all been glad it was renewed.
But i assume you all know what syndication for TV shows means, and that it's quite a financial desaster for production companies, if their shows get cancelled shortly before they've reached that magical #100 number of episodes.
My guess is they've offered NBC kind of a very special price for buying Grimm S5.
But in 2 weeks #100 is there and Grimm is able to be sold on syndication market and make some money for the producers in future.
So ... after that goal has been reached, what do you all think about another renewal?
My prediction is, that with these current rating numbers, another renewal sadly looks quite impossible.
As much as that may hurts, but we've got to face the facts: compared to last season, it even went much further down, finding itself now even constantly below 1.0 in the important and all deciding demo:
My only hope is, that Grimm gets a decent ending this season for all it's fans and that TPTB won't leave us hanging on a major and never resolved cliffhanger, as that would really suck!
Not to give you even more of a headache of how serious the situation is for our beloved show right now, but for judgemental reasons ... here are the Grimm demo-ratings of season 2 compared to season 5:
