I think there's probably more like 5 categories. Grimm, Human, Wesen, Royal and Spiritual (like La Llorna).
I personally figure Royals are sort of like the Tuatha Dé Danann (in some of their stories). Where they were human but obtain "god-like" status. I believe the Royals came about because they found a way to extract the essence of Wesen and use it on themselves. No proof anywhere for this, but it's something I'm slightly hoping for. Over the years, their blood was altered by the changes their ancestors caused, allowing for their blood to be singled out, such as the Royal blood test. Eh, who knows, I'm blabbering now.
