Why only one country?
So, I didn't get to rewatch the episode, but I did see it a couple of weeks ago. It was a very good one that explains alot of the Grimm history and what the Royals were up to. Nick wasn't too interested in the Royals story back then, so it didn't really register with him, imo. But the diary page has always, from the get-go intrigued me and I always thought it was written by one of the original seven Grimm Knights - and that it would contain some important clue as to where the location of the hidden object might be. Wrong again, because it must have been consumed by the fire.
But Kelly did emphasize that the Knights went to great lengths to keep the object from falling into the hands of the Royals, that they had already infiltrated many top governmental positions around the world, and created many trouble spots around the globe in order to topple governments and seize power. Okay, that may have been covered in the following episode.
Nick was getting over his initial anger at being separated from Kelly during the episode and there were a couple of touching scenes between the two. Wonder if the Mauvis Dentes sent by Eric was Verrat.
Think that was the first appearance of Renard's half-brother Eric, who interrupted supervising the torture of an apparent member of the Resistance to take a phone call. He was a great villain; miss Eric.
I don't have a particular suggestion for a dropped plot line that could have been pursued to a better direction from this episode. But I've always been interested in a deeper explanation that the Seven Royal Houses and their greedy power-grabbing schemes has in the Grimm world. They could have done a better job at this all along.
All in all, one of the better episodes among many excellent ones that season.
Got me on that one. Something about French dentistry??
