You know the writers must have done something right because I am a guy and like must guys I don’t care much about romantic relationships on tv but I actually cared about Nick and Adalind together.

i think so too. it might be down to actual chemistry between the two actors but i found their onscreen relationship so enjoyable to watch. i know theres lots of complaints about thow their relationship was written but its the first time ive truly shipped a tv couple apart from monroe and rosalee, and even then i find nadalinf to be so much more interesting and fun to watch.

I find "shipping" incredibly frustrating because I feel the writers tend to manipulate viewers through relationships (especially when centred around "triangles" which is the go-to preferred storytelling for relationships on tv) so I always tried to stay away in that regard, but darn it Nick and Adalind won me over in S5 against all odds. They were the only couple I ever actively "shipped" on tv since Harm and Mac on J.A.G. I could add Jaime and Brienne from GoT but their arcs are so far removed from their original book characterisation that I've just about given up. Everyone else I can take or leave them because they are so perfunctory, merely relying on viewers to carry the couple. Technically this is every couple on screen including Nick and Adalind but there was just something intriguing about them because of their antagonistic history.

So much for some of the contributors that have claimed the deleted scenes are worthless to be used to support various opinions and insist of not taking them in consideration. I have always claimed that they do serve a purpose to analyze the characters
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!

But please, do enlighten us on how deleted scenes serve a purpose.

Deleted secenes and extended scenes do serve purpose particularly extended scenes as they are just cut for time. They help explain things better beacuse they can offer more information on the shows plot. Some show runners even encourage fans to count some deleted scenes as canon as long as they fit with the rest of the aired narrative. It’s utter nonsense to just totally disregard a scene that was just cut for time purposes. In movies for example a lot of times the extended version is better than the aired version. Yes some deleted scenes if the go against show narrative don’t serve much pourpose, how ever if they were just cut for time and fit in with the rest of the show they should be counted .
The lost show runners for example often encouraged fans to count most of the shows deleted scenes on dvds as just extra canon .
Deleted scenes really have no purpose other than to be added back in at a later date to increase sales. I know everyone's gung ho about those Nick-Adalind scenes. But if they were really all that important to the canon, then other scenes would have been cut to make room for them.

They help explain the plot you clearly have a bias against this for some reason and that’s fine we will agree to disagree.
For example there is a deleted secene in season 2 of Renard and Adalind talking naked in the forset after sleeping together, they talk about her going back to his place afterwards to protect her from nick until Renard gets the key. That is a cut scene that does serve a purpose as it explains in detail how and why Adalind went back to Renards after the forest and why he was going to hand her the key until he changed his mind. It is a scene clearly cut just for time and I consider scenes like this as just extra parts of canon that explain plots better. You may not consider scenes like that as part of the plot and that’s perfectly fine but I do.

Irk, there have also been deleted scenes aired in promos for the next weeks Grimm episodes but not aired in the actual episode due to time constraints. Would you also class these as having no purpose.
