Erm. . .cats are carnivores; more carnivorous than dogs, which are really omnivores. (A dog can get along on a vegetarian diet; try to put a cat on one and you WILL kill it, as they need nutrients that are ONLY available from meat. Ask any vet or biologist.)
Maybe I have only see tame house cats. But I have never heard of a house cat rip the meat off a bone. or sit there an chomp down on a steak or bone. yes they are both meat eaters. But pound for pound I would stick my hand in a cats mouth before a dog. Even on the farm if there is dead livestock. Keeping the dogs away is a job. The cats could care less. And these are cats I have seen bring down a hawk. But even when they brought it down they just looked at it and walked away. The dogs had a field day. It is funny to watch the cats stalk something sit there a wait. Just to have the dogs run in like bulls in a china cabinet and run it down. Even the little terriers try to run down rabbits. So funny watching the rabbit start running stop, Spike a terrier only two feet tall running her head off yelping. Gets close the rabbits takes off. Spike does not give up until she can't see it anymore. Now King and Lady different story. A Roc and Dane. Rabbit stop and wait for those two it would be all see wrote. I have seen those two hits speeds that amazed and to watch them work together. I am still trying to figure how the communicate. An the must cause the Dane runs if down while the Roc cuts the rabbit off. After they rip it apart they bring back whats left so proud. What am I going to do with a mauled rabbit. We don't have foxes of coyotes would love to see how they react. But then my dog are strange anyway. You sure can't take them hunting with you, they wont sit still long enough or follow directions. Their style is, they can go from what looks like asleep on the porch to a full run in a slit second. Not even raise their heads up and look. Just gone. you don't even hear the nails scratch on the wood of the porch. All you hear is a low growl by the time you look, all you see is dog stretch out and they don't touch ground for about three feet past the porch. Plus their idea of fetch is you throw it you go get it. except a frisbee as long as it hovers in the air. My dad calls them good for nothing. I like them I can sit and watch them all day. plus they are all Loyal. I worry not about anybody and thing coming near the house. Spike thinks she runs the place. The cats don't have names they just come with the property. I don't even know if they belong to anyone. We feed them but then so does every body else. We also know leave the cats alone. they don;t like to be bothered, petted or have anything to do with people. I did watch the cats have a standoff with a possum. The dogs did not move a mussel. They looked at it and then went back to sleep. As the possum and cat ended their stand off, here comes Spike (yes its a male name for a female dog) barking an runnign after it not getting to close as the possum walked away. Thats why I call her Spike she has issue she does not realize she is small.
Now if you want to compare Rosalee with Zuri hands down Zuri would win. Zuri is closer to Monroe as far as power of attack. Zuri is most definitely a big cat. Unlike Rosalee when saving Monroee she was suppose to be her fiercest and she still reminded me of a house cat. pissed off but still it was more funny then scary. Kind of why I would have thought the Grand Master would have just backhanded Rosalee away.
The why is simple. The moment she landed she sank 4, 1 and 1/2 inch canines into his throat. Back hand her away and loose the fight anyway as your jugular is ripped out.
Loved the descriptions of your pets. Oh, and I have had feral cats, I fed them but they were not really mine, when I still lived a country life. Do not mess with them you are right. I want to get back to a farm so bad I can taste it. I have come to hate living with people all around me.
If I had something important to say, I would have mumbled it.
