But obviously doing something that ballsy is too much to ask of them. They're more content to offer the illusion of ballsiness with the old "killing off a main character only to bring her back a few episodes later" shock tactic.Nothing about five seasons of Grimm has ever brought gravitas to mind. Puffing on the magic hat begets a little bed hopping with the guy in the middle of that sandwich having a good time. Then one of the female victims decides sucking more hat smoke is a good idea, which begets a little girl on girl action. Ballsy isn’t part of the format either. G & K go for bizarre. Victimizing their characters and contriving ridiculous situations to obtain their desired level of bizarre is just part of the format. I was put off that the crucifixion & cross were even mentioned as a possibility. The last thing I want is for G & K to elaborate on a scenario that might end up with Jesus having actually been a Grimm or a Wesen. I completely understand your motivation, Hexenadler, I just don’t believe G & K can accomplish that within the type of show they want to write, or would they want to. I would be content with that. Additionally, I would have liked to see Adalind stay evil. Claire is so good at it! There’s definitely an argument that the format of the first three seasons worked better. It offered a different Wesen foe each week in a case brought to conclusion in one episode, along with a little Royals, Renard, and Adalind on the side. Completely agree about Claire Coffee and the character Adalind staying evil. Instead of a super baby, Adalind’s quest for her Hexenbiest should have resulted in her gaining enhanced powers. Nick could have killed Adalind in S1 but opted to only do what was necessary to save Hank - destroy the Hexenbiest and allow Adalind to live. Had Adalind become even more powerful and dangerous, it would have been an interesting examination of good intentions resulting in bad consequences. And Renard realizing he could no longer play the master to Adalind’s servant would be interesting & entertaining too.

Otherwise, Adalind would have died during s1.

Watch PHANTASM or ERASERHEAD sometime for an example. G & K are only willing to be weird to the point that's acceptable for mainstream television, which doesn't really qualify as either. You don't have to turn your characters into soulless sock puppets to achieve whatever effect you're going for, but bad writers don't know that or simply don't care. G & K’s tactics don’t make me think ballsy. Perhaps instead of bizarre I should have said brazen or vulgar - for the sake of bringing sex into the scenario and lack of respect for the female characters. Guess I haven’t caught up with mainstream television. For me, the Adalind/Nick/Juliette orgy is bizarre - not in a ‘thinking outside the box’ way, but in a ‘let’s have Nick hittin’ that with both women while they look like each other’ way. I agree, the writing is bad - and lazy, and character development is practically nonexistent. And given G & K’s propensity for brazen, vulgar, and bizarre, I don’t want their stories including the Crucifixion Cross or any connection between Grimms and the Christian faith. Thinking Nick made the decision, I saw his choice as clinging to human/police ethics. Guess not, he simply didn’t kill Adalind because her death would have an adverse effect. But regardless of why Nick didn’t kill Adalind, her survival could have resulted in a more interesting storyline than a super power baby that was immediately shipped off out of sight/out of mind.

I can swallow every awful bit of writing this show regurgitates but I refuse to accept any connection to the Crucifixion Cross, not even a sliver of a connection.

If they revealed Christ was a Wesen, I'd vomit. I would have loved the show to approach the Crucifixion as a deadly serious historical business far beyond any kind of petty Grimm or Wesen conflict, but after seeing their condescending approach to religion in "The Believer," I'm now hoping they stay the hell away from it.

The gold band is not the ring from last season too. I am thinking last minute wedding at the courthouse in jeans. What do you think?
