I know there's been quite a few debates as to why Grimm's ratings had fallen, particularly with the younger demo. I found an interesting article that might explain why Grimm's ratings were affected in season 5 and 6:

I, myself, do not watch traditional tv anymore. It's either Netflix, youtube or other online shows for me. Neither does anyone in my family except for my parents. I don't know if the ratings only reflect the number of viewers who watch when the actual episode is shown, or if it also includes the viewers who save the episode to watch it later or on another day. If it is the former, the fall in ratings might not give an accurate picture of the total number of viewers who have seen the episodes in season 5 and 6.
